ornamented the earth with huge mountains, vast
oceans, captivating land-scapes, gardens and
green fields. Trees are loaded with fruit and
plants are decorated with flowers. Man is the
master amongst all the creation. He has been
bestowed with the power of thinking and doing.
Some people come on this earth only to enjoy the
facilities available to them but some people
come in this world to add their share to the
beauty of this earth by rendering marvelous
service to the mankind. I am going to introduce
you to a personality whose every second of life
is dedicated in enhancing the beauty of this
world and rendering service to Humanity. The
name of this renowned personality is Baba
Kashmira Singh Ji, who, within himself, is
an institution. He is a religious Head, a Social
Worker, An Educationist and representative of

Brief About the Trust |

|
| |
During the year 1992 an idea sparked in the mind of H.
H. Baba Kashmir Singh Ji to Start a charitable hospital
to provide medical facilities to the down trodden
section of society at the affordable rates. For this
purpose he donated his personal property worth 2.5
crores of rupees (according to cost structure at that
time) for this purpose. He constituted a Trust named
Baba Kashmira Singh Jan Sewa Trust and got it registered
with the Registrar of Societies Chandigarh vide
Registration No. 250 of 1993-94. Main objects of the
Trust are to provide best medical services at low cost,
Medical Education to girls, Eradication of drug
addiction, provide awareness to masses about their
duties towards the society.
Due to visionary approach and strenuous singular efforts
of Baba Kashmira Singh Ji the Trust has raised the
following prestigious institutions within a very small
span of time:-
1. S.G.L.Charitable Hospital at Garha Jalandhar which is
now functioning as a Super Specialty hospital with a
capacity of 350 beds consisting of all specialties
including Cardiac Surgery and Kidney Transplant..
2. S.G.L.Charitable Multi Specialty Hospital at village
Mustfabad near Subhanpur
Distt. Kapurthala with a capacity of 300 beds. Salient
feature of this hospital is
that it is having world class Diagnostic Centre in which
MRI. CT Scan, as well as
Blood Bank, and Critical Care Van is available round the
clock.
3 S. G. L. Nursing College at village Semi P.O. Khajurla
Jalandhar is catering the
need of Medical Education to the girls in the following
courses:-
a. M.Sc. Nursing 40 Seats
b. B.Sc. Nursing 60 Seats
c. B.Sc. Nursing (Post Basic) 20 Seats
d. G.N.M. Nursing 60 Seats
e. A.N.M. Nursing 40 Seats
4. S.G.L. Community Health Centre at village Semi
Jalandhar with a capacity of 25
Beds
The further expansion of the trust include he setting up
of a Medical College (S.G.L. Institute of Medical
Science and Research) with an annual intake of 150
M.B.B.S. seats, a Dental College (S.G.L. Institute of
Dental Sciences and Research) with an annual intake of
100 seats as well as Cancer Treat Wing with ultra modern
technique for cancer
Treatment i.e. The Linear Accelerator. The Trust has
already been granted necessary No Objection Certificate
by the Government of Punjab. Construction of the
buildings at Mustfabad is being taken in hand
